Sometimes I wish I could be as deeply devoted to my art as Andy Kaufman was. I would have to believe that most serious artists feel the same way. He entrenched himself on the front line with an - often hillarious, and just as often sad - all out war with the status quo. I do think, however, that the test was more along the lines of how HE dealt with reality...the audience was just a bystander!
