Quote Notes

Today I am beginning what, I hope, will be a daily feature.

Quote Notes is a very simple premise.  I will post a new quote everyday, along with any thoughts or feelings that I may have about that quote.  If the quote in question pertains to a particular experience in my life I will share that also.  I invite you to do the same if you should feel so inclined.

The proliferation of social media sites has led to an explosion of quote references.  They are the quickest, easiest way of conveying our current state of mind to the masses.  The fact that the hard work involved in converting our thoughts into the perfect anecdote to describe a given situation has already been done, make them all the more attractive.

My question is this: why should a great quote be left to wander the world wide web alone - with no measure of its magnificence?

These quotes affect us.  They inspire us.  They keep us grounded or convince us to fly.  The really great ones operate independent of the social niche from whence they were uttered; they transcend liberal and conservative, black and white, religious and atheist.  They appeal to every ear that hears and - in rare occurrences - even approach truth!

If you see a quote that has affected, or helped, you in some way then tell us why.  Maybe it provided just a little light so that you could see the end of the tunnel, or gave you solace in a time of despair.  Perhaps it bolstered your confidence in a moment when you were not completely sure you had the strength to move on.  It could even have been something so antithetical to your view of how the world should work that it angered you into taking action.  The bottom line is that what makes complete sense to one person may be a complete load of shit to another.

Whatever the case might be please let us know!
